I’d like to teach 7/8 year olds about water safety. Any Ideas?
I’m doing swim lessons for 7 & 8 year olds and besides learning basic swimming and the 4 strokes, i’d like to include water safety tips in my lessons. The thing is I want these kids safe in all types of weather, so I’d like to teach things like, what to do if they fall off a boat, or what if they get swept away by a raging river (things that they will almost never have to deal with, but are good to know just in case). Is there a good website i could go to that would give me emergency situations like this?

Okay, there are a couple of sites you can use. There is the American Red Cross site, (at),
or the National Water Safety Program (at). And just a teaching tip: try to keep stuff moving quickly, and keep stuff interesting. Have a great summer!
