so 1 of my dreams was to live on a house boat
problem is I have never even been in a boat
and I dont even realy live by much water (except the illinois river)

here are some questions:
are there schools to learn how to drive boats?

or is that something thats just passed down by sailors or self taught?

is there rent on a house boat? (ya im seriously asking that lol)

is it true there is no laws in the middle of the ocean?

are house boats just as expensive as a real house?
whats an average price?

lets say I have a house boat on the ocean
can I just go any where or stop any where to sleep
or do I have to dock at certain times

are yacht’s the technical term for house boat? or are they something completely diffrent

I have no experiance with boats
I just always thought it would be fun living on a house boat

pretty much any info on houseboats or the life style would be cool

So my folks are looking to retire (rather nicely i might add) and might just sell their house, nearly everything in it, and buy a nice 60 footer yacht and just live the rest of their lives on it.

I’m trying to help them out and i’m wondering, what’s the standard upkeep for one of those things? I mean it’s gotta cost something with gas, repairs, oiling or something, etc. I’m not all that fluent with boats and sailing so i’m trying to find someone with a good estimate.

(For gas, let’s say they travel 100 miles a month on average?)

I’m not interseted in racing at all .. but i dont want
it to be slow … I am planning to take trips of 50 KM plus on them (one way).. so maybe 100 KM back and forth.

The boats i am looking at are between 6 to 10 meters long.

Only problem is that i cant decide on the engines
Also Safety is a real issue .. considering the activites and the number of people that are going to be on the boat. (wake, ski) 8 ppl on boat

its 103 ft long, and has a downstairs thats not in the pictures. they make it look a lot nicer for the party.
there would be a dj and dance floor on the bottom

I’m seventeen and boats are my passion.

and I fell in love! I want to own a WHY so freaking badly and I’m going into International Hospitality (Hotel management) as a career. I know that even after a lifetime of working with hospitality that still won’t get me enough money to get me that yacht.

With that said, I wanna start investing money in the stock market as soon as I’m eighteen.
Will I ever be able to buy myself a WHY?
